Join us for a morning of striper fishing on the Housatonic River in the Derby/ Shelton area. With the water still relatively warm, stripers are aggressive and an angler with the right gear can get into ALOT of fish. The river is sheltered in the productive areas so it is usually calm and easy to fish.
A boat is required for this trip since shore fishing access is very limited. A small aluminum boat with an outboard motor is perfect. A kayak can also be effective if you are up for paddling against strong currents and have the necessary safety gear.
Fishing Licenses Required: CT Saltwater AND Freshwater (Upriver from Rte 1 bridge is considered fresh water)
