Translating Competitive Fly Fishing Techniques into Your Everyday Fishing

Join us as guide Antoine Bissieux discusses ways to implement techniques and approaches gleaned from competitive fly fishing into your fishing arsenal. As a guide on the Farmington River versed in the latest European fly fishing strategies, Antoine is uniquely positioned to teach us new ways to fish our local rivers. Learn about both nymphing and dry fly techniques, from leaders to sighters, to approaches to fishing super light lines, very long leaders, and the flies best-suited to these styles of fishing.

Antoine is an Orvis-endorsed guide based in Connecticut, and has previously taught fly fishing and casting to thousands of anglers at the Orvis fly fishing flagship school in Manchester, Vermont. To see more about Antoine, visit his website at

The meeting is free and open to members, guests and the general public. It is held at Stony Hill Fire Department, 59 Stony Hill Road, Bethel and starts at 7:30 p.m., but doors open at 7 p.m. for pizza, soda and some good conversation with fellow anglers. Don’t miss out on the raffle too.
