October 12, 2016 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Join us on October 12th at 7 p.m. to hear Steve Zakur talk about pike fishing in northern Saskatchewan. Steve traveled to Saskatchewan in June to fish at Arctic Lodges on Reindeer Lake. Reindeer Lake is a 200-mile long lake that is home to an excellent pike, lake trout, and grayling fishery.
Steve will cover the details of the trip, the fishing techniques used, including gear and patterns, as well as tales of the many, many large pike caught. The tips and techniques covered will be applicable not only to faraway fisheries but also to our local pike fishing.
Steve is past president of the chapter and is a writer for several fly fishing magazines. A resident of Newtown, CT he is still trying to find just the right color purple for his deadly Woolly Bugger pattern.
The meeting is free and open to members, guests and the general public. It is held at Stony Hill Fire Department, 59 Stony Hill Road, Bethel and starts at 7:30 p.m. but doors open at 7 p.m. for pizza, soda and some good conversation with fellow anglers. Don’t miss out on the raffle too.
