Pootatuck River Clean-up, April 26th

The Candlewood Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (CVTU) will celebrate the 44nd annual Earth Day by cleaning up litter and debris along the banks of the Pootatuck River in Sandy Hook Center.

Saturday April 26th 2014 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Volunteers are needed. Those interested in helping out should meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church parking lot at 9:30 a.m. rain or shine. Representatives will be available to sign forms for students participating in community service.

Please contact Steve Rudolph to confirm your availability for this important event.

Immediately following the event, Steve Rudolph will lead a stream walk of the Pootatuck River . All those who volunteered during the day are free to join Steve for a tour of the fishery and learn a bit about fishing for trout. Bring your rod and gear to fish as well !

Please wear clothes and boots that can get wet and/or dirty; bring gloves, bug spray, and sunscreen as needed. Hope to see you on Saturday April 26, 2014!
