Overview of Trips for 2010
If you haven’t been on a CVTU sponsored trip then you’re missing a great opportunity to fish special places with special people.
The Little Juniata trip has been set up as a repeat in May, except we will fish the Little J for two days instead of splitting our time between the Little J and Penns Creek.
The June 2009 CVTU trip to float fish the Deerfield River was a success. We will repeat in 2010 as a two day trip fishing for rainbow trout. The trip is scheduled for June 2010.
The smallmouth bass on the Androscoggin River are better than Deerfield’s , and I have had a couple of requests for a smallmouth trip on the Androscoggin in Maine, so that’s set now for July.
A fall steelhead trip has been arranged for the Salmon River near Pulaski NY in November, 2010. The Salmon River area (Pulaski) is closer than Niagara or Cattaraugus area, so it has the nod right now.
Right now the schedule looks like:
- wade for brown trout in the Little Juniata on May 19 and 20, 2010
- float for rainbow trout on the Deerfield on June 23 and 24, 2010
- float for smallmouth bass on the Androscoggin River (Maine) on July 22 and 23, 2010
- steelhead stalking on the Salmon River on November 16 and 17, 2010

We have several old favorites that will not be visited by CVTU-sponsored groups in 2009-2010. In the spirit of complete disclosure, so others can arrange personal trips to these locations if they choose, CVTU-sponsored groups will not be going to:
the Catskills
Cape Cod or Long island Sound
the Delaware
the Connetquoit
the Ausable in upstate New York
the Westfield
Penns Creek
